Daily check-in
A mood tracker built around fatherhood
A brief daily check-in for mood, sleep, stress, connection with your kids, and an optional note—with trends you can inspect over time.
The short answer
Bestead’s daily check-in asks for a mood score from 1 to 10, sleep quality, stress from 1 to 10, felt connection with your kids from 1 to 10, and an optional short note. The insights view can show 7-, 30-, and 90-day charts, averages, streaks, weekday patterns, and simple comparisons involving sleep, stress, connection, and mood when enough entries exist. These are descriptions of your own records, not diagnoses or proof that one factor caused another.
Inside the feature
What it includes.
Concrete capabilities already represented in the current Bestead app—not promised future features.
Five focused inputs
Record mood, sleep quality, stress, kid connection, and an optional note without turning the check-in into a long survey.
Multiple time ranges
Review charts and summaries for the last 7, 30, or 90 days.
Pattern summaries
Compare your own mood averages across sleep, stress, connection, and days of the week after enough check-ins.
One check-in per day
Return to update today’s entry rather than creating a confusing stack of same-day records.
A practical sequence
How to use it.
Bestead is designed to give you a next step. The feature does not make the decision—or the repair—for you.
- 1
Check in
Choose the values that best describe today; an imperfect estimate is more useful than waiting for perfect certainty.
- 2
Add context if useful
Use the optional note for a brief fact you may want to remember, not a full journal entry.
- 3
Review patterns cautiously
Look for questions worth exploring rather than treating an average or comparison as a clinical conclusion.
Data and privacy
What happens to your information.
Check-ins use the app’s SwiftData store as the local source of truth. Account sync and retention are governed by the privacy policy; summaries and exports use these records only when you choose those features.
