Connection practice

Relationship exercises for dads

Step-by-step practices for communication, appreciation, conflict repair, team parenting, and reconnection—alone or with a willing partner.

The short answer

Bestead includes structured relationship exercises across communication, appreciation, conflict resolution, team parenting, and reconnection. Each exercise provides a description, estimated time, steps, and—when useful—talking points. Some are marked as partner-required, while others can be completed alone. You can record completion, an optional note, and a helpfulness rating. These are conversation and reflection practices, not couples therapy and not a way to make another person participate.

Inside the feature

What it includes.

Concrete capabilities already represented in the current Bestead app—not promised future features.

01

Clear step sequences

Each bundled exercise provides an estimated duration and an ordered set of actions.

02

Conversation prompts

Optional talking points help turn a broad intention like “communicate better” into a specific exchange.

03

Solo and partner formats

The app distinguishes exercises that require a willing partner from practices you can complete yourself.

04

Private reflection

After an exercise, you may add an optional note and helpfulness rating to the completion record.

A practical sequence

How to use it.

Bestead is designed to give you a next step. The feature does not make the decision—or the repair—for you.

  1. 1

    Choose the relationship job

Start with communication, appreciation, conflict repair, team parenting, or reconnection.

  2. 2

    Check consent and timing

If the exercise requires another person, ask whether they are willing and choose an appropriate time.

  3. 3

    Complete and reflect

Follow the steps, then privately note what was useful and what needs a different approach.

Data and privacy

What happens to your information.

Exercise templates are bundled with the app. Completion records, optional notes, and ratings use the app’s SwiftData store; account sync and retention are governed by the privacy policy.
